You are also welcome to work with your individual therapist to design a service that works best for your schedule and needs.

At Sage Springs Therapy, we are relationship-based and client-centered. Our philosophy is that the therapist-client relationship is the foundation upon which change is created, and as such, we meet our clients with compassion, respect, and non-judgment. We are inclusive of all humans and believe in every person’s inherent value.
At Sage Springs Therapy, we believe that relationships between therapists and clients should be collaborative. Clients are encouraged to provide feedback to therapists, ask questions about the therapy process, and work together to chart the course of therapy. We combine evidence-based therapies with ongoing relationship-building to create meaningful and lasting change.
We also provide Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for deeper trauma work when regular talk therapy just isn’t enough. This can be a good fit for those who have tried traditional therapy and found it did not go quite deep enough.

We do not currently accept any insurances and are self-pay only. Most insurances require a diagnosis, dictate duration and type of treatment, and can access confidential treatment notes of clients. By not taking insurance, Sage Springs is able to provide clients with far more privacy and autonomy throughout the treatment process.
There is an option for some clients to submit a receipt to insurance, called a “superbill”, for possible reimbursement; please check with your insurance provider to see if this is something they offer.

Yes to both! We offer appointments Monday-Thursday both virtually and in-person. Many clients choose a hybrid style and incorporate some of both. We work with our clients during consultation calls to ensure we can meet their scheduling needs on an ongoing basis.
Frequently Asked Questions

We work with individual clients 18+ who are struggling with behaviors like people-pleasing, shutting down or exploding when upset, avoiding conflict, or chronically numbing out, which often stem from upsetting or traumatic life experiences, especially in early childhood.
We support clients in better understanding and managing their emotions, improving relational skills, and increasing self-compassion while learning to access and trust their inner wisdom.
Hannah is also a stepparent and enjoys working with clients contemplating or going through divorce and/or remarriage. Divorce can be an incredibly destabilizing time; we work to support clients as they navigate the often confusing, destabilizing, and uniquely difficult experiences of separation, divorce, identity and life rebuilding, and at times, re-entering the dating world and navigating blended family life.
We do not conduct child custody evaluations nor do we provide custody recommendations. We do not provide couple or family therapy.

How long therapy takes is dependent on many factors, such as:
How long has the problem(s) been going on?
Are there root causes to these issues that might require deeper work?
Do my schedule and finances allow for weekly therapy at this time?
Is this the first time I am addressing the problem(s), or have I made attempts to resolve issues in the past?
Is life going generally okay, or does the problem(s) make life kind of miserable?
Would I benefit from trauma therapy?
You and your therapist will work together to determine the timing and duration of therapy meetings, generally meeting more often in the beginning and tapering off on sessions as things improve.
-
Generally, the first few sessions involve your therapist getting to know you, your story, and the nature of the problem(s) you are experiencing. It’s a time for both you and the therapist to make sure it’s a good fit and to build a relationship that will be the foundation of treatment. These early sessions also focus on outlining goals for treatment and exploring what has/has not helped you in the past.
Once the groundwork has been laid, the deeper work can begin. You and your therapist will discuss a treatment plan and you’ll have a better sense of what therapy will look like moving forward. These sessions often involve more deeply exploring your history and the people and events that have shaped you. Along the way you’ll be gaining insight into yourself and your struggles, improving coping and communication skills, and developing a sense of increased self-compassion and understanding.
Research shows that what a client does outside of session (or does not do) is highly predictive of success in therapy. As such, we will collaborate to determine what changes you can make or skills you can practice in your day-to-day life in order to build on progress made in sessions.
